The Legend of Captain Alex

DISCLAIMER: Before getting into today's documentary, you should probably read my previous post about SV Delos.

The interesting thing is, when Brian and Brady of SV Delos first sailed from Mexico to French Polynesia in 2010, they met "Captain Alex." They still have some grainy photos and videos of his in their earliest vlogs (SV Delos Ep. 10 on Youtube).

Alex was a fellow American who had also left it all behind and was sailing around the world--on a much smaller sailboat (the 39-foot-long Bubbles)--without actually knowing how to sail :)

But Alex was an adventurous soul larger than life--not just the soul of a party but an awesome, real, down-to-earth person who made everyone around him laugh--and who shared his boat with any random people who came across him and who'd wanted to hop aboard and sail.

In sailing circles, Alex is a LEGEND.
